The "Orgeleinbuch" was composed to provide repertoire for the historic organs of Europe, often of only one keyboard and short octave, that I encountered on my tours. The 24 short pieces run the gamut of styles, sacred and secular. Each can be played on a one-manual organ with short octave.

This recording was made using samples of the 1636 Antegnati organ at the Chiesa di San Carlo, Brescia, Italy, sampled by Sonus Paradisi http://www.sonusparadisi.cz . (As such, it is a virtual recording and does not claim to be an on-site recording of the instrument.) Warmest thanks to Jonathan Orwig of Evensong Music http://evensongmusic.net for this demo.

NOTE: I am a vociferous opponent of digital instruments for church services and public performances. However, for the purposes of personal study and Internet usage, I am very enamored with this technology! It is as useful as it is fun. Bear in mind, however, that nothing can or should ever replace real human beings playing real, acoustic instruments. - Leonardo Ciampa
