STAINED GLASS (recorded in 2004 for AFKA Records) is the first CD of the renowned Frobenius Organ at First Church in Cambridge, MA, since organ and church were expertly restored. Maestro Ciampa recreates a program he played in the Alps in July, 2004. "I wanted to make a CD that sounded like a concert, not the other way around. ... I came back from Europe, went to First Church, and with the Alps still in my mind, recorded the whole program on one evening." The result is the type of colorful, exciting, anything-can-happen music-making for which Ciampa is known. |
